David has been involved in pastoral music since the age of twelve.  In 1988 he received his degree in Music Education and Communication from Seton Hall University.  Prior to coming to St. Matthew's he taught General Music at St. John the Apostle school in Clark and Blessed Sacrament school in Elizabeth.  He was also Director of Sacred Music for ten years at St. Joseph the Carpenter parish in Roselle.
 
Since coming to St. Matthew's in 2003, David directs four vocal choirs, two handbell choirs, teaches music in our school, serves on the Parish Pastoral Council, and is a co-chair of the Liturgy committee.
 
 
Walter Baber
Organist

Walter studied music at Manhattanville College, N. Y. (BA) and Rutgers University, N. J. (MA).  He served as Dean of the Middlesex Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO).  At St. Matthew's he works under the direction of the choir director, David Jules, playing at Sunday Masses and accompanying the choirs.
