Lectors
The ministry of lectors is a vital to the “Liturgy of the Word” during the celebration Sunday mass. The duties of a lector are to be well prepared in advance to read the scripture of the Old Testament and New Testament. A lector should also be ready to read the “Prayer of the Faithful” and pulpit announcements when there is no Deacon present and to lead the congregation in the Responsorial Psalm at the Sunday 7:30 mass.
Lectors will receive training and Lector’s workbooks to assist them in their ministry. Anyone over the age of 16 may serve. Good reading skills and confidence in public speaking are essential. If you are interested in serving in this ministry contact Deacon Frank Yuhas @732-985-5063.
