The School Advisory Council is made up of men and women from the school, parish and community who provide advice to the principal and pastor on the governance of the school.
St. Matthew’s SAC is actively committed to Catholic Education. Meetings are held bi-monthly for members to lend their expertise in the areas of Education, Finance, Facilities, Technology, Marketing, and Strategic Planning. Members serve on various committees, such as Finance, Building and Grounds, Advancement, Marketing and Membership.
An annual self-survey of the SAC is conducted to identify key areas of improvement that best reflects the needs of the school. Past SAC contributions include:
the development of a unique Fixed Tuition plan for grades K-8 to provide “peace of mind” that a child’s or grandchild’s tuition cost will not increase each year.
the creation of a comprehensive Alumni database which includes all available information from alumni for every graduating Saint Matthews class. Updates are ongoing.
working with the Diocese to identify ways to improve the marketing of our school. Brochures were developed that highlight the Pre-K program as well as our K-8 programs. The SAC is constantly searching for avenues to promote the school, talk about events and accomplishments, and communicate with local news outlets.
social events, such as the SAC sponsored Wine and Beer Tastings, to raise funds for specific projects and school improvements. An example is the beautiful exterior St. Matthew School sign that clearly and attractively guides visitors and the school community to our doors.
If you are interested in serving on the SAC, please contact any SAC officer through the school office at 732-985-6633 or email Principal Joyce Schaefer at [email protected] New members are always welcome and encouraged.
Our mission is to be the best Catholic School in the diocese, state and country.
